1. Tell us your story on how you got into technology?I stumbled into it, to be honest. I am always looking to learn something new, and I am very open-minded. When I saw the sales coordinator role open for Dataprise, I was extremely interested because I knew there was a lot of room for me to grow working in a new industry.
2. Did you always know that working in technology was what you wanted to do?No, I never really saw myself working in this industry, but I knew it was an industry that I wanted to learn more about. The transition is not always an easy one, however, I was fortunate enough to get my foot in the door, and now I can figure out what path I want to pursue from here.
3. How long have you been with Dataprise?I have been with Dataprise for 6 months.
4. Can you share a little bit about what it is that you do and what a typical day for you is like?My day starts with following up with emails from my team and clients. Then I work on administrative tasks and attend any meetings for the day. I like to end my day with an educational course via LinkedIn Learning’s course library.
5. What advice would you give to women considering a career in the tech industry?I would say to just go for it! Be a sponge absorbing as much knowledge as possible. It can be overwhelming in the beginning but if you take it one day at a time and apply yourself, you’ll be fine!
6. Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry?I think it’s important to have more women in technology just to break those barriers and ideas down that this is not an industry women will do well in. The power of the brain only knows limits we place on it.
7. What do you think is the best part of being a woman in the tech industry?I think the best part is all the new information I am exposed to and being able to collaborate with other likeminded people.
8. What is it that you enjoy most about your current job at Dataprise?I enjoy the people that I work with. I have an amazing team that supports me, and really cares about our success. But overall, the company is very collaborative, making you feel connected even if you are working remotely.
9. What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?Always have a plan for yourself or you will become a part of someone else’s plan. Have your own goals, figure out what that road map looks like for you, and define what your success is on your own terms.
10. Where do you see yourself going from here?Well, with my promotion to Channel Manager I see myself growing in this role, and supporting my sales team for the new year,, which will be a very exciting time!
